Flair for Art

A missed opportunity

As well as being a swot at English, I loved art at school but I never even considered that I could become an artist by profession.  In those days (before the introduction of sophisticated graphic design, clearly some time ago now), A’Level art was not regarded as a ‘serious’ subject and was unlikely to help get you into university.  And so that was the end of that.  Or so I thought.

When I eventually found the courage to turn my back on law in search of something more rewarding, I also began to doodle and draw and paint.  No fine art here.  This was just for fun.  And I guess my creativity, fired by my off-beat humour and usually inspired by my love for all things furry and feathery, simply ran away with me.

The result is that I have now produced a range of greetings cards and original illustrations in watercolour and ink – some for clients and some for myself – and am beginning to give more focus to the possible business opportunities they offer.

You can see some of my illustrations here. Enjoy browsing and I hope they make you smile.

If you are interested in commissioning some humorous art work – either for merchandise or as a one-off piece – I am open to ideas and more than happy for any excuse to get my paint-box out…
